Children’s fashion is my passion. I can’t help but loving children’s designer clothing. As a former runway model, I’ve always been interested in the latest trends, but I have to admit: after having children, I have been more focused on my children’s clothing than my own. I am just another Mom who loves dressing up her children in clothing that reflect their personalities, and brings out oohs and aahs.
And don’t you love when people ask you “where did you get that??”…?
That’s why I hand pick every designer, every piece of clothing and every pair of shoes for our store. My “test panel” and I wouldn’t offer you anything we wouldn’t use.
One of our exclusive brands is Riiminka Design from Finland, their cool Skull print clothing is pictured above. Riiminka Design clothing is colorful, the prints are cute, and hand printed. The cut is simple, and has a really nice timeless styling, being trendy and very “in” right now. Scandinavian design, that will last for years to come. The clothes are made of soft poplin cotton, that has a linen-like texture. Washes great, and looks cute even when you don’t iron it (I don’t… I want clothes for my kids that are easy to take care of for me!).
I’m just not a big fan getting belly button showing t-shirts with political sayings for kids – kids should be able to be kids as long as they want to. So, I try to offer more childish, but stylish options. Clothing really reflects who you are, and I don’t want my children to voice out my own opinions – I want them to voice out their own views. Anyway, Riiminka Design is one of those simple, but so colorful brands that voices out “fun”, “stylish”, “childish”.
The Riiminka Design skull clothes were even picked to “Best Pirate Essentials” for Babble.com by Ayun Halliday, the cool author of The Big Rumpus and No Touch Monkey! and the popular zine East Village Inky.
