Wow, this was fast. I know I talk a lot, I guess I write a lot too.
I’m honored, that a few other websites have published my articles too, and they will appear on other sites this fall too. Thank you, I’m very excited about it!
I was also honored a Thinking Blogger Award by Mel / MorningSong, a new friend here in Blogtown (I know, it’s blogosphere, but Blogtown sounds cozy, like we are all just a small circle of friends here). I love reading your blog too, and thank you so much for the kind words. She asked how I got started with my business and everything, and I think I owe that post for all of you. Some day I will tell it all, I promise!
I’d like to give the Thinking Blogger award for five Blog Sisters. The Oscar goes to..
Pinks and Blues Girls – the two sisters and a mom team, my long-lost-and-now-found-twin-sister Marianne and Jamee’s sister Stacey.
Audrey, you are one rockin’ mom for your boys, I love your parenting style and your humor. Your life sounds amazing and I want to thank you for sharing it with us!
Jane, I wish you were my sister! And I know my kids would love to have you as an aunt, you get along so well with kids, and I love how you are such a great Mom already – for your dogs. I’m so sorry about Bismarck!
Sharon – OMG, I don’t know where to begin! I admire you so much, and when I read your posts about parenting I always have the same thought: “If this was a book, I would buy it to all my Mom-friends”. I hope you ladies are already working on a new book – I can’t wait to come for a publising party!
For those you don’t know, these ladies already wrote a book, Preconception Plain & Simple, full of tips for preparing for pregnancy. If you are just planning on having babies, buy it, right now!
Marianne is a new online friend too. After writing some e-mails, I just wrote to her, girl, we need to talk on phone, I can’t write fast enough. Our views of life are so much a like, that we felt like we were twins, who got separated in the hospital. We probably were born in the same hospital anyway (TYKS?). So, a few days ago both of our husbands were out of town/working and after we put kids to bed, we talked on phone for over 4 hours, until 2.30 in Chicago time! We could have easily talked another 4 hours, but it was getting a bit late.. Marianne, soittellaan taas joku kerta, jäi jutut kyllä pahasti kesken!
Last but not least, the award goes to Stacey, who dedicated her blog JameeForever for her sister Jamee, who passed away almost excatly 5 years ago. Stacey, your spirit is very inspirational, and I love how you use humor and live a life in a way that every day matters, you know how to carpe diem! You make us all laugh with your writings, and you are such a devoted wife, your husband is so lucky!
And then.. here are two photos of me for you to laugh!
The first photo is from an old magazine article of a photo shoot trip to Spain.. I’m the one with the big red hair on the right. The picture is taken on my 18th birthday. (And the swimsuits were part of the photo shoot, even back then I wouldn’t have picked something as horrible.)
EDIT: I got an e-mail from Finland saying that I should mention that the two beauties in the picture with me are Arlene Kotala and Emilia Söderman, 1st and second runner ups for Miss Finland in 1993 (which was held only two weeks after this photo was taken). I haven’t seen Emilia for years, but Arlene lives in Sweden with her husband and their daughter, and they came to visit us a few years ago when we were vacationing in Finland.

Here is a picture taken today, with me jumping with my girls. As you can see, my hair is still big, and now is everything else big too. (I’m just landing from a good jump, that explains the hair :)

Katja, Oh my goodness, you have made me cry! We all think you are just so amazing, and are raising your family in such a wonderful, worldly way. You are such an inspiration to us, so this award coming from you means SO, SO much!

Jane, P&B Girls
Congrats on 100 posts!! LOVE the pics!
Steph
Girl, you do NOT know how much I wanted this award, seriously. I know, I’m a loser blogger, lol.
Happy 100th! Yay! And not gonna go without saying–wow. If anyone laughed at your photo up there, then it’s a jealous laugh. You. Are. Hott! How EVER do you keep your hair so long now–I’m losing mine faster than John. I guess I can live vicariously through your hair, is that okay?
Keep blogging, all the way up to 2000 posts and beyond. xoxo
Ooooh I just went over to Lenas Notebook–look at you! You’re practically a rockstar, Katja.
We love to jump on our bed as well. It’s part of our bedtime routine. Who cares if you need to buy a new mattress eventually. Making fun memories is more important. Way to go!
Hi there Sis,
Who would have thought that we were born in the same hospital, grew up in the same neigborhood and had to move to the other side of the world to find each others. This was meant to be…
I don’t know how I came across your blog but when you are online blogging and reading blogs things like this happen.
I love this post.
Congrats on the awards and being recognized.
