It’s that time of the year, that I would like to remind all Moms again about sun safety!

I knew how dangerous sun is, and I’m proud to be pale, it just shows that I’m sun smart. But I was inspired by the nice people at the Supergoop sun lotion company to learn more, and some of the things they told me were totally new to me!

Here are some Sun Facts from the Skin Cancer Foundation.

- Babies under 6 months old should not be exposed to sun at all.

- Sun exposure at young age can alter DNA or skin genes to increase the risk of skin cancer later in life.

- In the past 20 years there has been 100% increase in pediatric melanoma (skin cancer in children).

- 90% of skin cancer cases are a result of exposure to sun.

- Regular white light weight t-shirt provides only SPF 5 to 7 protection.

- Sun protection should be used all year around, not just summer.
