Vise Grip and my husband saved me!

by Katja Presnal on July 30, 2007

Can you believe, my 800$ espresso machine broke today?!

We’ve had such a bad luck with coffee makers. In the last 10 years we’ve owned at least 10 coffee makers. No kidding. They always break! Last year I studied so much which espresso machine to buy. I visited blogs, coffee forums and read ton of reviews. And I bought Italian De’Longhi MAGNIFICA super automatic espresso machine, and I thought I’d be covered for at least 5 years, or until I get my dream house with the built in Miele espresso machine (2,599$). (yeah, in my dreams)

What happened to my espresso machine: the milk frothing dial broke. It is obviously impossible to turn without the knob, and that means no steaming milk, no froth! And I need my latte! At least I found out from the manufacturer’s website, that I can order a new one for only 4,25$. It still reminds a mystery how I’m able to change the old one to the new one, but I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Wish me luck.

My husband saved me for now, he gave me this amazing tool – Vise Grip plier! See on the top picture how nicely you can just lock it..? How cool is that? According the way my husband said tenderly “please, don’t loose it”, he likes this handy little tool too. Girls, it’s never too early to think of Christmas, put this one on your shopping list for a stocking stuffer for your husband.
You might need it someday too.

lol, well…..if I put that on my list, I think it might just frighten John, idk! You’re funny. I’m very glad you’re saved, however, and without buying a new machine at that!

Came over to hug YOU and tell you thank you for the lifting words today. I am very fine, no worries. xoxo

Isn’t it amazing how the most simple tools can fix the most expensive gadgets!? I hate to say it, but my non-do-it-yourselfer hubby probably wouldn’t even know what a vice grip is! It’s OK, though, he makes up for his lack of skills in that area elsewhere!!

What a great gadget!! My husband bonds with his tools too!

Glad you are still able to have your espresso! As a mom you need that caffeine to keep up in the race! :)
