Ok, it’s Gwen Stefani day today…
Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. collection has never really hit me before.
It’s been too colorful and a little bit everything, but I saw some photos of the spring 2008 collection, and there are actually some really nice pieces.
Black and white and splash of a color, and short skirts and shorts with knee long socks. I loved this look ten – fifteen years ago, but I don’t think I could do it anymore (as a mother of three and the figure that came with it).
One of my favorite outfits is the one I already showed below, with the amazing handbag – I think the handbags are my favorites from the whole collection! Really nice!

Some other favorites:

Then some picks from the Fall 07 Collection,
if you can’t wait ’til spring to wear some of Gwen’s designs.
For work:

Cascade front Blouse, 175$.
(but why it’s 28% polyester?)

Sailor pants, 215$
For home:

Finger print scoop thermal, 95$.

Warm Up Pants, 95$.

It’s funny–I adore Gwen Stephani’s personal style –the very 40′s look she usually has going, but am not so big on LAMB. The outfits you showed were cute but I was looking recently at some of the rest of the collections and was unimpressed. Though I do have a thing about finding the right length skirt (I am short-legged so need to wear short or long but hate being immodest and don’t like having to be careful when I help my kids with their shoes. :))
Simply Vera Wang has some good stuff this fall though I am sick to death of the mu-mu like short dresses and maternity tops that are in–they just make everyone look frumpy and like they are hiding their excess weight. Not flattering unless you are super underweight and very tall. The more polished 40′s and mod styles are pretty nice however.
Definitely in a “between styles” year where the designers have come up with a variety of things are flailing around trying to decide what the “next thing” will be. hopefully the swingy tops, skinny pants, and frumpy dresses will go out soon. The only thing worse than an overweight teenager going around in too tight jeans and a too big top or a short, short mu-mu is seeing the same young ladies walking around with a bare midriff and short shorts. We get a lot of that here and I always feel so embarrassed for these young ladies trying to dress like their skinnier counterparts–I always want to go up to them snd tell them to find what looks good on them and stick with it instead of trying to be like someone else.
I agree with you! I think I would have continued to be unimpressed with LAMB if the handbags hadn’t caught in my eye. There were a few nice pieces though, but I would mix them differently than in the fashion show. Like said.. the knee high sock thing and mini-skirts are not for me either.
I also have to admit that I don’t like ankle boots nor the bubble skirts, you really need to be a stick for them to look good. And agree on the skinny jeans too.. not for me.
Seems like right now almost anything goes.
