This toy store takes children’s safety seriously. Everybody knows about the recalls from last year, and all of us are more or less concerned about buying toys for our children. Monkey Bean Toys stepped up and really wanted to do something to make sure the toys they are selling are safe.

The owners of Monkey Bean Toys, parents themselves, decided to test their wooden toys for Lead in paint. They used a hand-held XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) Metal Analyzer screening for hazardous materials (i.e. Lead) in all of their imported toys. This same analyzer is used by the US FDA for frontline screening of heavy metal contamination. With this state-of-the-art equipment the owners of Monkey Bean Toys performed screen-testing on their entire inventory of wooden toys made in China. “Based on the results, we would give our products to our own son to play with!” says the Monkey Bean Toys owner Debbie Butera.
