iPod Touch Giveaway!

by Katja Presnal on February 12, 2009

I can not believe how fast this month has gone so far and it’s almost Valentine’s Day!

I admit… I haven’t done anything for Valentine’s Day so far… but I have Walmart to the rescue!

I downloaded Walmart’s Blow a Kiss iPhone application and have been having fun with it and finding great (and cheap) gift ideas from the store and sending kisses for my friends. And yes, you really blow in your iPhone to send kisses and get new gift ideas.

In addition to the gift ideas from the stores, the Walmart community shares great Valentine’s Day tips and you can even send your own personalized Valentine’s Day cards at Walmart.com.

One of my favorites at the site is the Top Love Songs of All Times and I hope you like it too, because you have a change to win an Apple iPod Touch 2nd Generation 8GB and $10 Walmart Gift Card with what you can download ten love songs!

Key Features of the iPod Touch:

My last minute tip is to use different colors of construction paper and cut out hearts for the kids. They can write in their own lil’ cute sayings for their friends and even Mom & Dad! Make heart pancakes for breakfast , you could even add some dried cranberries in to the mix!

Leaving heart shaped notes in random places, like the bathroom mirror, car steering wheel, on the door knob, etc. It’s unbelievably cheap, but makes the recipient feel extra special.

For a cool V Day gift…find something homemade on etsy with hearts, or make a cool giftie out of love, like red cupcakes, red velvet cake or dip strawberries in chocolate. Making it together is super fun and romantic too…yum…

For last minute I usually dig through my scrapbook items, print a few photos and whip up a card. Last year I waited way too long so I stopped at Starbucks and bought a mug that you could put photos in. I made a background, cut it out & glued on a photo of our girls. It’s Doug’s favorite travel mug. We don’t go out on Valentine’s Day, so I plan a “restaurant style” meal (here are my favorite recipes) .

Use heart-shaped pans to make muffins. Or, make heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast.

If all else fails, or you just forgot, cook a really yummy dinner for your special someone, and then clean their house.

35 valmg February 13, 2009 at 20:50

My tip is instead of buying a gift, make one. Instead of taking your sweetie out to dinner make something new that they’ll love.

If everyone is going to have a busy day, or the kids have their own plans for the evening, why not make an extra special breakfast so everyone can start the day together. Even if you only serve cereal, at least everyone will be sharing a meal together.

When my kids were little, I used to add a little red food coloring to their milk to make it pink for Valentine’s Day. It was a fun way to start their day.

I subscribed to your blog.

Vday last minute idea:
Heart shaped rice krispee treats made with your kids.

Or even better – check out some of the sites that have free trade items or items you can buy that will feed the hungry or help orphans – My personal favorite is Saint’s Coffee, you can even set up regular orders for it and it is great coffee. You feed an orphan for a month when you purchase a pound of Saint Coffee – that is TRUE LOVE.

Valentines Day in our family is a day of giving PAJAMAS! We all need them and Valentines Day can get pretty expensive. It’s so much fun!
