I told you I had a crush on a beautiful house, and it was like the high school crush on that boy.
I had the first date with house yesterday, and to my surprise, the house had more in common with the high school boy crush than I would have thought of.
Looked fabulous outside at the first look. But rough on the edges, even some rotten corners, and lots of skeletons in the closets. When I was in high school, I thought I could fix those imperfections with lots of love and care.
I wasted 5 years of my life, and was left with lots of heart ache and bruises.
This time I’m smarter.
There are things in life you just can’t fix. Or even if you can, it isn’t just worth it.

there has been many a house Ive fallen for from the road, but upon closer inspection it had bad breath and termites
I am both happy for your wisdom and sad for your loss of a crush… it’s so fun to be in that courting stage…
Oh well. I move on quickly. I’m having another “date” tomorrow morning with another house :)
We were SO in love with a house as well, but it didn’t work out. We knew in our hearts that it wasn’t the right way to go, so we were okay with it. We knew it was a crush, and the thing about a crush (instead of true love), is that when it’s over you sort of wonder what you even saw in it, you know?
Here’s to finding your true love.
