TOP 10 SPRING 2010 TRENDS FROM MACY’S IMPULSE

1. BRIGHT COLORS
From neon pinks to bring yellow – and all your other 80′s favorites, including turquoise and fuchsia.

2. GLOBAL NOMAND
The Global Nomad trend is a mix of ethnic inspired prints from around the world, from batik prints and tie-dye.

3. ANIMAL PRINTS
Get your safari on – animal prints are hot this spring and summer.

4. CARGO PANTS
Cargo pants or shorts are a must have this spring. Mix with animal prints to get the safari look, but be careful not to go overboard. Better look is to mix cargo pants/shorts with embellished tops or tops with global prints and high heel shoes of course to create an urban safari look.

5. SHORT SHORTS
Ok – I can not pull this look, but if you have the legs, show them. This spring and summer is all about short shorts. And the rest of us – lucky us, shorts are trendy in almost any length or style, even denim shorts are in this summer. Just make sure to get new ones and forget about those you got from the mall 5 years ago.

6. LACE
Feminine lace is in! Especially in the tops. If you like the feminine look, get some ruffles too, and top the look of with traditional pearls.

7. STUDS & METALS
The feminine look is really in now – but at the same time leather and studs are still here. Even the zipper trend isn’t quite over yet. Either way – it’s OK to bring in a little metal, but instead of having them in the clothing, get bracelets, handbags or other accessories with studs and at least mix them with something a bit more feminine.

8. FLOWERS
Flower prints are in, but please go bold and make a statement with flowers. It is really easy to wear flowers and look like a wall flower.

9. STRIPES
And especially nautical blue and white stripes are in – and even nautical jackets and white pants.

10. SANDALS & GLADIATORS
While nothing beats high heels to finish an outfit – sandals and especially gladiator sandals are in. Gladiator sandals are a must have for this spring and summer, they will be your go anywhere shoes, practical yet trendy and dressed up.
