Did you know that the American Association of School Administrators predicts that over 30,000 schools are eliminating field trips?
Field trips are such an important part of education; it’s not just a fun day off school (how my kids see field trips) but a different way to learn in a fun environment and usually in much more hands-on-way.
Oscar MayerLunchables recently announced a campaign to get more kids to go on educational and inspiring field trip adventures. The campaign is called “Field Trips for All,” and they will send 50 classrooms for field trips. Anyone can nominate a classroom to win a field trip through June 1.

One of our family’s favorite places to go with kids in New York City is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and we do “family field trips” there and other NYC museums. There is so much to see, and you can do so many trips to MET, and there is always see something new – or something in a new light.
This summer the Tutankhamun’s Funeral exhibition is one of the most exiting ones for kids to see – even though no mummies here, which my kids would have loved to see. The Knights in Central Park exhibition is another cool one for kids to see – this exhibit is full of armoire in the Arms and Armor gallery, and especially boys love it.

My family does not have a favorite family day trip. We like to spend time together and see new things. We make an adventure out of every trip. And a family field trip to the MET sound fantastic!
There are so many favorite field trips for my family. Currently, we have memberships to both the Franklin Institute Science Museum and The Philadelphia zoo and our children never get bored of them. Another great field trip we took was to the Brooklyn Museum of Art. I love taking my children places and exposing them to new thoughts and ideas.

We’re big fans of the Sedgwick County Zoo here in Wichita. It’s a really good one!
My favorite family field trip is Central Park. We never get bored visiting the park because there’s so much to do.
