After six years of having a private blog where the audience grew to a size that I was not comfortable with (because it had identifying information about my children and spoke too personally about some of the things our family has gone through), I decided to launch a new blog and have it be public and potentially earn income with it. You’ve given me a lot to think about because I never want to get to the point where I am blogging because I “have” to or writing about something I don’t really want to. I need to find a happy medium I guess and set some goals.

What a great post. It really boils down to us making choices! I am guilty of not having a specific goal in mind – now? I’m inspired to dream and to take the necessary steps to make that dream a reality!

This is a really great list of information. I’m somewhere between blogging as a hobby and as a job. My blog is growing steadily and I see significant changes in numbers month to month, so I’m trying to continue to post the kinds of things that drew my readers in in the first place. I think there are so many reasons why people want to/start to blog. Make money, build a personal brand, drive sales to an existing business, as a hobby, as a self-expression, as a way to connect with other people, as a way to share thoughts/life, but most certainly you can choose blogging as a lifestyle to achieve/maintain/fund the other things in life you like to do.
