I have four free movie tickets to see Focus Features movie ONE DAY starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. Two for me, and two for you courtesy of Kodak, the official film the movie was shot on! One Day is in theaters starting today, August 19th.
We don’t have any babysitters so I can’t take my hubby for a movie date, but I’m making it a girlfriend date instead and I’m going with my friend Lisa of New York Chica with me – and she in fact is giving away another two tickets to see the movie. One Day sounds like a perfect chick flick or a date movie and great way to end the summer! Check out the trailer and enter the giveaways for scoring free tickets for the movie. And if you already go see the movie this weekend tweet us @skimbaco and tell what did you think!
ONE DAY Movie
The movie ONE DAY follows the lives and loves of Emma (Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway) and Dex (Jim Sturgess of Across the Universe) over 20 years, checking in on them on every July 15th – the anniversary of the day they met in 1988. One Day is based on the international best-selling novel by David Nichols.
Emma is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. Dex is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground.
For the next two decades, key moments of their relationship are experienced over several July 15ths in their lives. Together and apart, we see Dex and Em through their friendship and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along. As the true meaning of that one day back in 1988 is revealed, they come to terms with the nature of love and life itself.

One Day in Cape Town, South Africa changed my life. A New Yorker in a strange land, lost and confused walking around the streets of a new city. A polite young man comes up to me and says “Excuse me, but are you lost?”. We are in love three years later. :)

I would say that the day I was placed with my adoptive family (at the age of three months) changed my life forever. That was the moment when I could have gone to any of a number of families . . . but I was placed with the one I got, and I have had to live with the consequences of that ever since.
becoming a mother was a life changing day for me~
