… so we took kids to audition for the next Ben Stiller movie, the sequel to Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers.

They are looking for two kids, a boy and a girl in the ages between 6-8, and since I happened to hear about the audition, and Gaby and Kris happen to be in the age frame, we went and took them to audition for the movie today.

No, we don’t have any unrealistic plans of moving to Hollywood any time soon, and obviously kids don’t have any experience in the acting business (even though they fake cry pretty well if I may say so), but part of our “Summer Camp at Home”, we created a plan to do something unusual and special this summer – instead of doing any actual summer camps. Summer vacation hasn’t started yet, but we took this as one of our special new experiences.

My best friend’s child has been in a few movies, so I called her yesterday to give us some tips, and she told me to put an acting resume with photos together. So I whipped up some resumes yesterday, printed out some photos I took myself, and listed all the experience (like school plays) and their special skills like knowing how to ski. Let me tell you, it’s really weird to write a resume to 6 and 7-year-olds, I mean, what are considered skills anyway; like does talent to tell fart-jokes or win a staring contest count? But I am all about living life to the fullest, and how many kids get to say they even auditioned for a Ben Stiller (and let’s not forget Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman) movie..? (Ok, hundreds and hundreds, so as you can imagine we have no expectations to get called back).

Gaby and Kris practicing their lines.

We got to the studios an hour late, and I’m glad we did, because we ended up waiting only like 30 minutes or so before the kids were called in to audition. They gave the kids simple lines to rehearse and they had to say them in the front of the camera. They were asked a few questions, and it was all over in less than 10 minutes. Kids were excited about the new experience, but we explained that they are looking for a certain type of kids, and even if they did perfectly in the audition, they still might not be the type they are looking for, like they might be looking for kids with blue eyes, and their eyes are not blue, so there is nothing we can do to change it. I don’t think it’s going to be a big deal for the kids if they never call back – for them just the audition was an exciting new experience. Then again, if they will get called back, that would be focking awesome, and we’d totally go to Hollywood…

Brooke Burke and moi.
And like the tradition goes, I’m sharing that I’m wearing a red velvet dress by Ralph Lauren, and strappy sandals by Guess.
No idea who Brooke is wearing, but she looked fabulous.

I arrived home from my first ever trip to California, and I am proudly reporting that I saw a glimpse of Hollywood – and Hollywood saw a glimpse of me. I even appeared (very briefly!) on the CBS’ THE INSIDER TV show.

Scroll down the see the clip, and yes, I am on it, for the very end of it, and approximately for one second, but who’s counting, the point is, that I was on national TV. Right?

Anna, Brooke Burke, Mel B. and Cheryl

The red carpet Premiere event of A Woman’s World was held at the Coco De Ville, and the real stars of the night were not Brooke Burke and Mel B. (yes, Mel B. of Spice Girls!), not even the gorgeous mommy bloggers, but four women, Anna, Cheryl, Maya and Nikki, who are the stars of the “Only In A Woman’s World” series. I can not wait to tell me more about these four ladies and about their webisodes and what all they will be up to in the future (come and visit my blog again on Sunday, and you will hear more).

Anna, Cheryl, Maya and Nikki threw a heck of a party (for cartoon characters)! They all had signature drinks, and signature snacks (stay tuned, more info coming of Frito-Lays new healthy snacks for women) and introduced us to their celeb friends.

Brooke Burke was so down to earth, so nice to talk with, and I wish I had had more time to talk to her and hear more about her company Baboosh Baby (which by the way she didn’t even slightly try to promote to me, but I asked her about). We talked about being mompreneurs, about blogging, Twitter and about Dancing With The Stars – she said it was hard work to be in the show, but she loved every minute of it.

Mel B. of Spice Girls, another Dancing With The Stars contestant, was also in the party. She said she loves her new cartoon friends, they are so funny. She thinks every woman should have 3-4 best friends, with whom she can share things, laugh and who can support each others. I asked what she enjoys doing with her friends, and Mel B. said she loves going out for a hike, or having good ol’ English tea and biscuits with her friends. Or having a good work out session with her friends. Mel B’s new work out DVD Totally Fit just came out, and just seeing how awesome Mel B. looked, I might be looking into that pretty soon…

I agree with Mel B. and Brooke Burke, all women need girlfriends. And the red carpet event wouldn’t have been anything if I hadn’t been there with some of my best girlfriends, Andrea, Lori and Christine.

As promised… more details about the Frito-Lay event in LA. I was invited to a Frito-Lay factory tour and a VIP red carpet event hosted by Brooke Burke! Best of all… my girlfriends are coming with me!

Read what the invitation said:

Frito-Lay is launching their first campaign inspired by women that illustrates something we usually don’t see celebrated – every lovable bit of our womanly selves, from our quirks to our most genuine moments.

We’d love for you to take this journey with us and participate throughout the year as we roll out this campaign and new products that are both indulgent and nutritious, developed exclusively with women in mind.

To start, we’d like to invite you to a VIP red carpet event in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 24. Our special celebrity guest will host the premier of “Only in a Woman’s World,” the new animated series celebrating four friends who humorously experience everyday “that’s so me” moments about topics like diet, beauty, snacking, exercise and body confidence.

The site is brought to you by Baked! LAYS and FLAT EARTH snacks, and I have a feeling I will learn much more about these on my trip to California. I have tested some of the Flat Earth snacks, and they were chosen to my top 3 healthy road trip snacks, me and my kids liked the Apple Cinnamon ones.

Watch the trailer for Only in A Woman’s World:

You can check out the four different types of women at the A Woman’s World site, I wanted to feature three friends, Lori, Christine and Andrea who are coming to this trip with me! When I was in BlissDom, I actually shared a room with both Lori and Christine, whom I have known for a long time.

Lori, aka @ACowboysWife, who really is A Cowboy’s Wife and shares her life at the ranch in her blog, and also treats us with My Wooden Spoon blog where you can find everything from easy to cook recipes to more exotic dishes from the ranch. Lori is also known for her photographer talent and a little known fact of Lori: she has the largest makeup collection I have ever seen (and yes, it makes me green!).

Christine, aka @YoungMommy, the super (homeschooling!) mom of six, who writes about her life From Dates to Diapers while offering great tips of the latest and the greatest products for families. I love Christine’s spirit and attitude, she is beautiful inside and out, and like many others, I wonder how does she do it all. Oh, but you know all this – because she is a real mommy blogger superstar.

Andrea, aka @MommySnacks, well, let me tell ya, she is a whole another story… Andrea helps moms at her site MommySnacks.net (remember, it’s .net, because .net is the new .com like Andrea says) offering zero calorie snacks of life, including on topics like deals, diets, faith, cooking etc. I had the opportunity to meet Andrea in person for the first time at BlissDom, and oh my goddness, is this gal funny or what?! I can not wait to spend more time with this witty pretty woman!

You can follow all four of us on Twitter, we will be blasting updates of the trip so you can virtually join us.

Well, most of them did.

Is it just me, or do you think the economy shows even in the Hollywood Glamour? I think many stars could have used more help from their stylists, hairdressers and make-up artists and the People’s Choice Awards looks looked like they were also put together by people themselves this time. Carrie Underwood outshone everyone else, and not just with one look, but by changing dresses like Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses.

Black is a safe choice – or is it?

Speaking of Katherine Heigl, she looked fabulous in her men’s style suit and snatched the People’s Choice Award for the Favorite Comedy Movie.

Maybe not haute couture and glamour, but stylish and fashionable. Katherine Heigl wore Dolce & Gabbana suit and Jimmy Choo heels – who could go wrong with Dolce & Gabbana and Jimmy Choo?

Little black dress is something every woman should own, and usually it is the safe choice… but I think even the always safe little black dress didn’t work for Jennie Garth nor Reese Witherspoon. I like the Reese’s dress, but the look is something I wore already in early 90′s and it lacks the needed accessories, hair and the do to make it red carpet worthy.

Jennie Garth was trying to catch the Old Hollywood Glamour train, but missed it

Reese Witherspoon looked beautiful in her black dress, but not like the best paid Hollywood actress (which she is)

Sorry, but Teri Hatcher’s ribbons in the hem are not doing it for me either, even though the wrap style is so in and she looks stunning.

Flower Power

I don’t really think flower print is all that glamorous, but it is very Jewel, and she actually pulls it off pretty good. How ever, the belle of the ball, Carrie Underwood doesn’t have any luck with her flower print.

>
Carrie Underwood in Naeem Khan gown, Rene Caovilla shoes, Cinta by John Hardy jewels and a Mary Norton clutch. The true beauty of the flower dress just didn’t come through TV screen.

Bright Colors

Carrie Underwood however looked absolutely stunning in her other two dresses.

Other stars who opted for stunning colors were Marisa Tomei and Kate Hudson. Both wore bold colors and their looks bring out their personalities out well.

Marisa Tomei looks elegant and sophisticated in her Donna Karan dress.

Kate Hudson looks like her mother 25 years ago in her Gucci gown

Which one is your favorite?
