Foodnetwork star Paula Deen and Walmart CEO Lee Scott
One of the many highlights of the trip to Walmart Headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas was the Walmart’s monthly meeting.
The “monthly meeting” with the Walmart’s CEO Lee Scott was a some sort of a combination of the normal executive board meeting, Saturday Night Live Show and high school pep rally the Walmart-way. And when I say “Saturday Night Live” – I don’t really mean just Sarah Palin imitations- I mean pee-in-your-pants-funny comedy.
The Walmartians packed two gyms full in the company’s high tech fitness center (of 22,000 members) with professional filming crew documenting every moment and blasting it on the large screens in the gym next door.
Lee Scott introduced special guests, lik Harrison Ford and Paula Deen. Yes, that Harrison Ford and yes – that Paula Deen!
After the event we had a chance to meet Paula Deen face to face. I think most of us were more star stuck seeing Paula than Harrison Ford, who was actually in the same room.

The event itself was pretty amazing, but meeting Paula Deen – almost priceless. She actually even gave me a kiss!
You might wonder, what Paula Deen has to do with Walmart, and I would like to invite you to take a peek at the home section at your local Walmart – the shelves are filled with high quality pots & pans, Paula Deen’s cookware has just hit the stores.
Paula’s newest book Paula Deen’s My First Cookbook is also now available, and I know a few kids in my household who already have added that in the Christmas wish list.
